Aotearoa Contemporary opening night
The Art Paper attends the opening of Aotearoa Contemporary at Auckland Art Gallery Toi o Tāmaki with photographer Felix Jack, capturing the hottest looks on the night.
With an emphasis on emerging and less visible practitioners, the exhibition focuses on artistic breadth and art’s role in Aotearoa—responding to and generating new creative ideas and forms. Featuring 27 artists and 22 new compelling projects, Aotearoa Contemporary includes a range of different mediums and new art practices such as painting, textiles, sculpture, ceramics, photography, and a programme of new choreographed performances.
